There have been some very memorable firsts in my life, from my first home run in little league to my first published novel. I write blogs and do podcasts, but to have someone else actually speak and interpret my words… words that I wrote… is a mind blowing experience.
I am humbled and honored that my just released first audiobook was generated by none other than the incredibly gifted and highly acclaimed actor, Charlie Thurston, who has starred in countless stage, screen, and television productions. I originally experienced Charlie’s exceptional talent in his Earphones Award narration of the best-selling 2023 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Demon Copperhead, by Barbara Kingsolver. His performance was so remarkable that I said to my publisher/producer/boss, who is also my son Eric, “This is the guy; let’s make it happen,” and he did.
So here’s a shout-out to my new BFF Charlie… Thanks for your passion and expertise. I am looking forward to an exhilarating and productive future with you. Long may you reign.
Ha, he even looks like Stephen, the main character in my books. Hey ya never know who you meet on your journey through life. What a ride!
